Whether you’re connecting your accounting software, CRM, ERP, OMS, POS, WMS, Marketplaces like Amazon, Drop Shippers, or some other system, Magento is one of the best eCommerce platforms by far for multichannel businesses. Magento has long been known for strong APIs, however, times change, and new integrations take center stage as being more popular as businesses upgrade and change the software mix that they use to operate their businesses.
So, what’s hot in 2020? What’s on the cusp of being something big? We reached out to some multichannel integration experts as part of our Community Collaboration series of articles. Here’s a mix of what they’re seeing and anticipating:
“As B2B sellers mature in their eCommerce strategies, we’re seeing them move away from the eCommerce plug-ins offered with their ERP systems like for Infor, SAP B1, NetSuite or even some Microsoft Dynamics products. They’re realizing that these plug-ins can’t provide them with the modern functionality they need to create differentiated experiences online. With the new B2B features Magento 2 offers, it’s a top contender for these sellers to use as their B2B eCommerce platform, and thus follows the need for ERP integration. “

“The various Sage ERP applications have been around for a while. As merchants move to Magento 2, we still see Sage as an important system for integration in the space. Sage itself is a leader in # of installs and is releasing new cloud offerings, so it’s not going away as an integration need anytime soon.”

“Payment Reconciliation is a very important and upcoming integration, not only for front-end platforms but also for all the major marketplaces. Vinculum is building something on similar lines with Shopify including COD reconciliation. We are expecting that to be a hit, as no other company is offering this as of now.”
