Glacier Tanks is one of North America’s leading suppliers of stainless steel fittings and sanitary equipment for the brewing and extraction industries. The company manages more than 3,100 stocked SKUs, another 700 drop-ship products, and more than $2 million in warehouse inventory.
Over time, Glacier Tanks’ Magento ecommerce system became overbuilt, unstable and expensive to maintain. That’s when a colleague referred Glacier Tanks to JetRails.
In a period of global uncertainty and shifting trade policies, keeping costs predictable is essential. With overseas vendors and suppliers affected by tariffs and fluctuating shipping rates, locking in lower infrastructure expenses could give Glacier Tanks a sense of control. By optimizing one area of the business, the company would be better positioned to weather volatility.

After years of organic growth, Glacier Tanks outgrew its legacy Fortune3 platform and began building a new Magento site in 2019. The transition was far from smooth.
Three different development firms attempted to launch a new system, but the project stalled with poor code and frequent downtime. The company faced:
Glacier Tanks needed a partner that could stabilize performance and help the business operate with confidence again. And they hoped to get a handle on costs.

The first step was to stabilize the hosting environment, addressing issues related to server spikes, caching and database bottlnecks. JetRails worked with a new dev team to correlate infrastructure and code interaction.
Once performance leveled out, JetRails guided the company through a migration to high performance dedicated servers in our data center— a rebuilt infrastructure foundation for scalable, efficient hosting.
Glacier Tanks CEO Nick Roelle said, “I love that we can scale when we need to, but right now moving to dedicated servers cuts costs without sacrificing stability.”
Throughout the process, JetRails engineers, led by CSO Denis Zlatov, provided clear communication, proactive monitoring and ongoing optimization. The collaboration helped Glacier Tanks transform its infrastructure from oversized and overcomplicated to streamlined and stable.

Economic pressures, tariffs and shifting markets are forcing companies to look hard at operational costs. For Glacier Tanks, optimizing hosting was not just about saving money. It was about removing friction that held the business back.
JetRails helped them find stability, efficiency and confidence in their technology. With the right infrastructure, even lean times can become an opportunity to strengthen performance and improve profitability.
In the words of Nick Roelle, “JetRails gave us stability, savings, and peace of mind. That’s exactly what our business needed right now.”
