JetRails Announces Hosting Partnership with Cloudflare

May 30, 2018
News

JetRails is excited to announce our Hosting Partnership with Cloudflare, the website performance and security company. By leveraging their CDN, WAF, DNS and minification services we help to dramatically increase the speed, security and uptime of the JetRails fully managed platform.

From application specific protection with the Web Application Firewall (WAF), to the highly resilient and distributed Content Delivery Network (CDN), Cloudflare is another excellent addition to the JetRails Managed Hosting Platform for Magento.

Over 97,000,000 websites run on the Cloudflare network—ranging from individual blogs to e-commerce sites, the websites of Fortune 500 companies and national governments. Cloudflare powers almost a trillion monthly page views—more than Amazon, Wikipedia, Twitter, Zynga, AOL, Apple, Bing, eBay, PayPal and Instagram combined—and over 25% of the Internet’s population regularly passes through the Cloudflare network.

Faster Web Performance

Cloudflare was designed to make applications such as Magento faster, more secure, and more reliable. Cloudflare operates 151 Content Delivery Network (CDN) data centers strategically located around the world near densely populated metropolitan areas.  As your traffic passes through the JetRails data centers and onto the CDN, Cloudflare intelligently accelerates the static components of your website. by automatically moving the static parts of your site closer to your visitors, and dramatically improving the overall performance of your site.

Cloudflare’s intelligent caching system also means you save on bandwidth, RAM and CPU cycles, which decreases the load on your hosting deployment and increases your available hosting capacity. This allows your web application to run faster and more efficiently and to serve more customers with less servers.  On average, Cloudflare customers see a 60% decrease in bandwidth usage and a 65% in total requests to their servers. The overall effect is that Cloudflare will typically cut the load time for pages on your site by 50% which means higher engagement and happier visitors.

Broad Web Security

Cloudflare’s security suite offers a broad range of protections against attacks such as DDoS, hacking or spam submitted to a blog or comment form. What is powerful about this approach is that the system gets smarter as the Cloudflare community increases. By analyzing the traffic patterns of hundreds of millions of visitors in real time, they are able to intelligently adapt security systems to ensure good traffic gets through and malicious traffic is stopped.

At the beginning of 2016, Cloudflare mitigated some of the largest distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks ever seen. As attacks like these increase, Cloudflare is stepping up to protect websites.

JetRails partners with only with the most trusted brands to ensure your Magento platform is protected and lightning fast. Cloudflare is available on all JetRails hosting packages and is fully managed by our Magento engineers. Participation requires no additional effort on the part of your technology team.

The JetRails team has also created a Cloudflare Magento extension for your Magento Admin dashboard. This extension allows you to manage Cloudflare features such as DDoS Mitigation, Cache Purge, Firewall Management, JS Minification and Image Optimization right from your Magento Admin panel.
